So I'm looking to collect all the platinum editions on blu ray. The sleeping beauty one is the FIRST every Disney platinum version to come out. I was wondering why the blu ray one includes at dvd with the blu ray disc also. Why would they include the DVD?

So that people can buy the future-proof Blu-ray but still enjoy the movie now.

DVD preview!! Scans and screencaps. Very exiting about the alternate opening... But further confirmation a lot is missing and stuff from the previous SE isn't ported over. :(

It is, but not by much. The BD exclusives include a game, a Visual Commentary/Cine-Explorer, BD Live (trivia game, rewards, mail, chat) and a featurette on the restoration of the soundtrack. Some great stuff, but I think the chatting and stuff is a waste. Really, doing all that stuff while watching the movie? Just seems too much.

I agree. At the theater they generally announce that there's to be no talking, please turn off cell phones and pagers, etc. Why would I want to talk to someone while I'm watching at home?

I'll say it again, but this release is a real let down.

The Blu, especially, should be the ultimate, definitive, comprehensive, all-encompassing, final word on the matter release, with anything and everything included. We all know there's much more that could be on this, making what IS on it a disappointment.

I'm still gonna buy it otherwise. I'm sure it will be good.

Well, some of the Princesses have their campaign,Ariel has a keeping oceans clean campaign with her PE and Ariel's Beginning and Cinderella has a road safety campaign for her PE and now Aurora has a forest fires prevention campaign for her PE so she teamed up with Smokey Bear to rescue our forests.
Here's one of the ads:

I remember when this first aired, for a split second I thought it was early ads for the Platinum Edition, but then I heard the announcer and realized it wasn't the usual person. It's cute and gets the point across.

Speaking of commercials, they've started airing them this week for the PE.

What stations do you usually see this ads for the PE's.

No channel specifically, but I've seen it on both Fox and ABC.
