Tangled (formerly Rapunzel)

Post by Inkan1969 » February 15th, 2005, 8:13 pm

I found out on this Ultimate Disney forum topic about this brief article on voice Kristin Chenoweth in the SciFi Log

Rapunzel is now a squirrel? The Ultimate Disney Forum also refers to the prince as a basset hound.

I look at the IMDB's pages for upcoming animated films quite often, and I can promise you that, if I remember correctly, last week, that plot about Rapunzel being a squirrel was on the film's IMDB page. Today, it isn't.

But here is the interesting thing: if you look at the concept art for Rapunzel, as one of the Ultimate Disney members pointed out, you really can see a bassett hound in the pic with Rapunzel's tower. You may need to scroll over the pic to see the hound, though. The light blue film that will then appear over the pic helps the hound become more visible.

Even more interesting is that whoever got the squirrel Rapunzel plot taken off of IMDB did not change the "Color: Black and White" part of the page.

I hope the squirrel version of Rapunzel will remain a silent sidekick

Has Reese Witherspoon dropped out of Rapunzel?

Post by mr. squarepants » April 22nd, 2005, 6:21 pm

Reese Witherspoon is no longer listed on IMDB's cast list for Disney's Rapunzel. Has she dropped out?

Disney Lies- funny website

Post by Josh » May 12th, 2005, 2:41 pm

After getting word that Rapunzel Unbraided would be followed by The Tortoise and the Hairdresser, The Princess and the Peabody Award, and Hansel and Gretel Go Bananas, I visited a particular website, only to find that these films were just parodies (thank goodness). Nonetheless, here is the website, which contains several descriptions for both real and false upcoming Disney movies:

And don't forget to read the descriptions for the films that really are in development!

at the bottom it asks for people to submit their own...

How about my "Snow White And The Eighth Dwarf" idea?

On some boards, after the nagging or the joke was realized, it actually got quite a good reception! ;)

Finally a CG design that doesn't burn my eyes   Like Ben said, classic Glen Keane... drop 'Unbraided' and all pop culture references and voila. It's really not that hard to make a 'Disney' movie.
