Avatar was always intended to be a 3-season long arc. The story ends in Book 3: Fire. :(

I'm sad because that means when Season 3's over, there's no more gAang :(. But on the other hand, it's good that it ends rather than drags on and loses it's 'mighty sting'.

HOWEVER, there is a bright side, Brian Konietzko and Michael Di Martino said that they aren't done with the Avatar universe and that there's a possibility of a new 3-season-long story arc with a new cast set in either the past or future of the Avatar Universe :].

Well I'm glad they aren't going to drag out the story until they kill it. Can't wait to see the finale. ^.^

A completely new season sounds like fun. ^.^ hope they do a good job with it ^.^

As an otaku, I'm offended by what you just said.
I didn't mean they settled on an anime style, I meant they think the only way to get people to like their cartoon was to go anime style because it's popular.

I'm really starting to get tired of this anime craze and how people put down American animation, even though it's American animation that inspired anime in the first place.

Check out this thread I made --->
http://retrojunk.com/forums/showthread. ... ight=anime
Yeah well, some people are saying OMG THIS IS JUST A CHEAP ATTEMPT TO CASH IN ON THE ANIME MARKET, which Avatar is not. Sylistically similar but overall Avatar is very American. For instance, despite the fact that it's done on threes the characters move like, well, North American. There are certain body languages/signs in anime that never ever appear in American cartoons/features. The girls for instance, walk a little less discreetly. In general animes I noticed the girls always keep their two legs close to each other when they walk. Very ladylike. (mind you I mean this in a sense that when a character is not angry/has high emotion, they tend to walk a little more demurely)

The frequency of hugs the 'good guys' in this show does is another telling sign. Hugs aren't really employed in many anime, glomps, sure (usually to emphasize a character being obnoxious) but not like group hugs that the Avatar cast usually does.

If it is real anime, the girls would have needed to be saved by the guys constantly and no matter how much they train their skills it can never surpass or equal the boys' skills. Which Avatar isn't. I can count the episodes where Zuko get beaten up by Katara/Azula. Heck, Ty Lee immobilizes armies with just her touch.
*insert witty comment*
