Q: What about Adam West? You probably didn’t even have to audition him.

STEVE ANDERSON: Oh no (laughs), no, when we were casting the character, there really was nobody else, you know. Adam was the first name that popped into my head. The great thing about Adam too is that you know the movie is so silly. There’s a lot of silliness in the film and comedy. A lot of times you find yourself explaining these moments to the actors and saying, ‘Okay, now you’re sitting at dinner and suddenly this other character jumps up on the table and starts throwing meatballs. These characters start throwing meatballs at each other and one hits you on the head. How would you react to that? You react like you just got hit in the head by a meatball.’ And you know most people would go, ‘What are you talking about?’ But Adam West would go, ‘Okay’ and he just did it. He just embraced the silliness, the fun and good humor of this movie without question. It’s great to have people like that because that also means that they don’t see it as just something that is silly. They understand it and it’s real to them. They just say, ‘Great. I understand what that is. It’s not a comic moment, it’s not a dramatic moment, it’s just a moment that I’m playing right now.’ I think there’s a reality to this movie because of the way the actors could understand some of these more surreal and comedic moments and just treat them like it was an everyday kind of thing.

I love Adam West as a voice actor,
The way he lets himself be ridiculed in family guy is just awesome

And every time there's a scene with addam west, I just crack up

Yeah, he also did a couple voice-overs in Simpsons and Critic (played himself both times).....both were HILARIOUS.

He was in the Mr. Plow episode with Homer remember?

Adam West: Of course I'm Batman! Here's a picture of me with Robin.
Bart: Who the hell's Robin?

Adam West: And how come Batman doesn't dance anymore? Remember the Batousi?

Adam West was also the voice of the "Hollywood" version of Chicken Little, at the end of that film. I'm happy to see him returning in MTR with a larger role.

The frightened look on bart, homer and lisas face was priceless when he did his little bat-dance

Wait, that's that the twist? I kinda didn't want to know.

I wasn't really asking, but I could see how one can take it as that. Still, if you say there are more surprises, than that's relief!

It was a joke, Daniel .. the 'twist' Sullivan mentioned is from a different (live-action) movie.

I won't say which .. so as not to 'spoil' that one for you, if you haven't seen it yet.

I love Adam West but after that Hawaii Five-O spoof he did (and that's been forgotten now) he did just seem to take on board that he was no longer "cool" in the cool sense and just started ridiculing himself.

He's done fantasically out of that career turn, but is in danger of soming off something of a Warburton if he just keeps playing the same gag.

Actually Louis is an alien and the Robinsons all came from Earth, but years after a nuclear war.
