For me, it still had that "Aardman Feel" to it. In both the design and its cheeky sense of humor. Yeah, there were pop songs, but nothing too "American" beyond that.

And I'm glad you like my Avatar. Le Frog is one of my three favorite characters in the film (along with Rita and Toad).

I loved Rita! Especially her outfit. :) She kind of reminded me of Daphne in Frasier, if you ever watched that.
And the song that played during the motor boat chase IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS! :D (It was also in Igby goes Down, one of my favorite films) Which made the movie even better.

I loved the slugs as well....and the "movie ending with pop song" thing was DEFINETELY DW. :P

Also, I know a lot of people hate the whole "celebrity voice actor" thing but personally I thought Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet were just excellent. TOTALLY perfect. Especially Hugh. I wouldn't mind seeing him in another animated role. :)

Plus I noticed the Were-Rabbit Bunnies in the bedroom....

He's in "Happy Feet", you know. ;)

This was on the front page of the DWA offical site. So maybe things aren't as negative as they appear to be. :?

At the rate things are going, it looks like FA may have trouble reaching the $70M:

Killed is such a strong word ;) but defeated it did :P Guess the public can't get enough of Penguins :? Go figure...

Flushed Away IMO still looks more entertaining than Happy Feet but that's just me ;)

Here's a cool Variety article on DW and the current Aardman-DW situation: (via Animation Nation)

It's kind of a downer about their stock performance, however.....:(

Just a dumb bit of trivia: That screaming/sqeaking slug was voiced by Hugh. Guess big-name stars can do some things right, anyway. :P

BTW: Was it finally confirmed-beyond-a-shadow-of-a-doubt that Aardman is leaving DWA or are they still waiting to see how things go?

After that disapointning run of Flushed Away, I think it's completely fixed that they'll split up.

Hmmm....I think K said they were going to wait until after the New Year to announce it officially, whatever they decide. :?

Wow look what this guy at the Guardian wrote!!!

(I don't agree with him, though, even with everything I still think Aardman is adorable. And much better in clay.)
