No sequel could ever even come close to the original for one reason and one only: too much time has passed.
That's poor reasoning. Any movie at any time can always be made well.

Anyways, some of the visuals in the sequel do look better than their counterparts in the original.

Bambi II opinions/reviews

Post by bambifan56 » February 11th, 2006, 1:33 pm

Lets hear em. What the people think, haha. I personally loved it, I think the greatest scene (as with the first) was the ending, and anyone who tells me they saw the scene where Bambi rubs his head against the great prince (when he was leaving with Mena) and didnt get a slight bit emotional (even on the inside :D) (that scene could make even the biggest hard@$$ into a softie). It was great, the only problem is, it was a little short. I have to admit, I was craving more at the end, but i'm sure with the sales, another sequel (Bambi's Children (hopefully a theatrical film)) will quench my thurst soon. If they do follow Bambi's Children (the book by Felix Salten) it does have a chance to follow the same enduring path as its predecessor (the book is terrific), and dare I say :S, I would love to see an animated film of the original Bambi that follows the book (the book is much darker and more intense than the film (not taking anything away from the film, it's my favorite of all time). What can I say, the character of Bambi is one I just can't get enough of, something about that deer lol... Well sorry to get off the topic..what does everyone thing about the sequel to Walts personal favorite of all his films ?

I haven't seen it yet.

But I want to. :)

I've stated my opinion about it all over the place, including other threads in this forum.

I'm seeing it tonight.

With sales outstripping W&G, I would assume Disney might do a third, but with Pixar now in charge, they'll propably hold off.

I don't know...Tarzan, Bambi... why didn't they do the PROPER follow-ups the first time around??

Because people complained about followups made to other movies.

Well, you can't go wrong with Broughton...whatever he's writing.

There's a Broughton "pop" song on the soundtrack CD that was going to be used in the movie but wasn't.
