Haven't heard them all obviously, but of those on the nomination short list that I've heard, I'd go with So Long and Thanks for All the Fish too. Anyone notice how many songs are on the short list: http://www.oscars.org/press/pressreleas ... 2.15c.html ! A good sign maybe?

"Great Big World" was good, but there were a couple of other songs from that movie that were better. Either the Academy goofed in ignoring the other songs or Weinstein Co. goofed by not submitting them. "Be Prepared" was the best song in the show, and "Red Is Blue" was really good too.
I'd like to see "Be Prepared" nominated just to see how they performed it. That's a hilarious song.

For anyone who wants to hear a part of it:

I mean come on, its Danny Elfman!

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE Danny Elfman's music. My fave is probably Edward Scissorhands. Plus he has a great voice in Nightmare Before Christmas! :D
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

I prefere Harry Gregson-Williams. My favorite score from Elfman would probably be Spider-Man, though.

Is he doing the score on "Spider-Man 3"?

Dunno. Probably, he did it for the second one too.

No, he won't be returning for Spider-Man 3, though his theme will still be used. Here's the interesting story why: http://actionadventure.about.com/od/spi ... y3faq5.htm.

But don't worry, Elfman fans, because you'll be hearing quite a lot of the composer this December, when Meet the Robinsons and Charlotte's Web hit theaters.

Ouch. That's too bad.

Oh, he's doing Robinsons? That'll be interesting!

I liked Danny's score on SM2 myself.

Does that make him feel better?
