Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+
After the first ten or so minutes, we got into the film and the CG Buck melted away. We just enjoyed how well it was done, and by the end, while you may not actually buy Buck as a real-real dog, you are totally engrossed in his "performance". And the scenery truly is spectacular. I’m totally down to blow points on the 4K if and when it comes to Insiders as a reward!

Funny and so very true. Not quite "Every", though. For one, I notice they forgot Pluto. Could've gone something like this: "Do you like "The Addams Family" and "Three's Company"? Well, even if you don't, you can watch them around-the-clock for FREE!"

"So, you dropped cable, but you miss clicking channels at 2am?
Oh, and okay, so you dropped cable to get away from RuPaul, but..."
And Crunchyroll, of course:
"Can you believe we were ILLEGAL fifteen years ago? Now we're the entire industry!"

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+
That’s actually my second time watching that particular Honest Trailer, but for some reason it felt a lot funnier this time. Lol. (Literally! )
Best names:
Quickster (Netflix)
Disney - (Hulu)
Cyberdyne Prime. (Amazon of course)
Weird how they didn’t mention House of Cards since it was actually the very first streaming-only show ever produced, when Netflix was still the only game in town. (Well actually maybe not that weird. The lead’s firing is an uncomfortable subject, understandably.)

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

I literally watched this for the first time last week and absolutely loved it. Out of all their current remakes it's probably my favourite. You could tell it was a remake of the cartoon without it relying on being a shot for shot and beat for beat. It actually told the story on it's own merit without having to rely heavily on nostalgia.

Wait, are we still talking about Cinders? Apart from the slightly twisty ending, this was one of the most slavishly faithful remakes that didn’t really dare to do anything of its own. Design-wise, it was sumptuous, but everything else about it was about as cookie-cutter as they come. I can’t believe we're coming up on this being over five years old already next year...time for another remake!

Re: New Disney Streaming Service: Disney+
I confess I haven't seen the original Cinderella in forever, but I when watching the new version I didn't feel like I was watching the cartoon in action. Probably helped that they didn't feel the need to include the songs, and from what I can tell it didn't try to imitate the tracking shots and camera angles (or whatever the technical jargon is) from the animated movies. Sure it got from Point A to Point B to Point C without any detours but it was enjoyable. Especially Cate Blanchett. Unlike the recent musical remakes, at no point did I sit there thinking I should have just watched the 'cartoon'
