Oscar Contest 2025
Animated Views is giving away $100 worth of movies — your choice of either an Amazon gift card or a Fandango gift card — during our 21st Annual Oscar Event! All you have to do is predict who is going to win at the 97th Annual Academy Awards (to be held on Sunday, March 2nd, and televised on ABC). The person with the most correct picks will win!
Log into your Animated Views Forum account to play. Not a forum member? Registration is free and easy so sign up now! You never have to actually use the forum if you don't want to. We never give away or sell any of your information. And other than a message to confirm your address (and another if you win!), we do not send any emails to members.
Make your prediction in each category using this form. All entries must be received by Saturday, March 1st, at 11:59pm EST. One entry per person please. If you send more than one entry, only the first one received will be counted.
On Oscar night we'll keep a live running score of who is winning the contest.
You can view and print your ballot any time on the ballot review page.
After you've entered, don't forget to come back here to the Forum to discuss your predictions with other AV readers.
Then be sure to check out past contests and winners in our Oscar contest record book.
For the grand finale of the Event, join us for a live Oscar chat on March 2nd during the show. We'll be talking about the people, the fashions, the story-lines, and the awards, and also keeping tabs on who is leading in the contest throughout the night.

Always happy to see you as one of the first entries!
I should go back and look at the stats and see how late in the game every previous winner entered. Maybe you and I are fools for going first!

Re: Oscar Contest 2025
I went and did it! I went through all the ballots since 2013 and looked at how far from the deadline to enter the winner sent in their ballot. As I thought, of the 32 winners in that time (remember ties are possible), every winner except 2 entered the contest in the final week! Half the winners entered the day of or the day before the deadline! The farthest out a winner entered was 11 days before the deadline. That was estefan in 2021. That's kind of a cool achievement to track so I've added it to our record book! (Funnily enough the winner who entered 10 days before the contest was also from 2021: MileHighCinephile!)
ENTERED...
...on deadline day: 10
...1 day before: 6
...2 days before: 4
...3 days before: 6
...4 days before: 2
...5 days before: 1
...6 days before: 1
...10 days before: 1
...11 days before: 1

Well, it does kind of make sense to see how some of the other awards lean before making the final choices!

Interesting ... wait to see how I do this year, and then maybe consider holding off until the final week!!

I don't know if anything can aid my sad record! I'll do it today, before I forget.

Re: Oscar Contest 2025
Well the Baftas tonight just threw an already open race even wider open! Voters were split on many "popular" choices and I was jaw-drop surprised twice on things I don’t think anyone saw coming even given the usual slight leaning to the homegrown Brit choices. The most wide open, and therefore excitingly unpredictable, nominations in years!

LAST DAY TO ENTER IS SATURDAY!
I've added the consensus picks to the tally page so you can see an estimate of what your score might be if the most popular picks in our contest were to actually win: https://animatedviews.com/oscars/2025/results.php

Re: Oscar Contest 2025
Just a reminder that only one ballot per person is allowed. Please don't try to game the system. We are a "mom and pop" operation here and the prize money literally comes out of our pockets. So let's all just have fun with this and not try to cheat one another. If we believe someone is trying to submit multiple ballots, we reserve the right to disqualify the player or only accept their first ballot.

I don't understand the last column - if I have "20 / 1" does it mean that I'm not going to win?
