http://animatedviews.com/countdown-app/
Animated Views has a cool new web app for your iPhone — AV Countdown! With the AV Countdown app you can see a list of all the upcoming animated films and the date they are set to be released. Tap one of the films and you'll get a full screen countdown themed to that film! Pick your favorite and every time you launch the app you'll start with that movie's countdown screen.
And it's free!
[UPDATE - NOW AVAILABLE FOR WINDOWS PHONE AND ANDROID!
Since this is a web app you don't need to download it from the App Stores. You can install it directly to your home screen from your phone's web browser. Details are at the above link.
Feel free to ask questions or leave comments about the app here.

Re: AV Countdown for iPhone
Just a few notes about the app:
- Most web apps require you to be connected to the internet to use them. This one does not -- after the first time. When you first run it (and if you leave it open for about a minute or two) it will save all the files it needs to run in the application cache (a storage space set aside for apps). After that even if you're not connected to a cell network or in wifi range the app will still work.
- Every time you launch the app when connected, it will check to see if we made any changes (for example when we update a release date). If not, the app will use the files it saved in the cache and not use any more data. If so, it will update itself in the background and apply the changes automatically.

Re: AV Countdown for iPhone
I've got a demo of the app available online for those using Safari or Chrome. It doesn't have some of the iPhone-centric features (like offline viewing and saving your last viewed countdown) and since it is not saved on your device it probably isn't as fast as on the phone. But it does show off the main point of the app -- the movie countdowns.

Mouseover the arrows to scroll. Click a movie banner to see the countdown. Click the small circular arrow to go back to the main screen.

Re: AV Countdown for iPhone
We've added the first new countdowns to the app (since we launched back in February) this week! Launch the app and it should automatically update itself after a few minutes. (Want to be tell whether you have this version? Turn your phone sideways to the AV screen and wait for the date in the lower right corner to change to 20120611 -- that means the download is complete.)

For those not using it, here's a look at the countdown pages added since last time.

Re: AV Countdown for iPhone
We're doing these in "retina" high-res format now. (Though they are downgraded a bit for posting here.)

I'd rather have that the other way around ... a free iPhone and pay 99c for the app.James wrote:If you've got an iPhone be sure to grab our free movie countdown app
