Re: Site and Forum maintenance
Weird. (Especially having the issue on the main site. I've only ever seen/heard about it on the forum.)
There is one simple fix I can try... but it'll cost me some money! I'm going to raise the amount of RAM delegated to our site and see if the issues are caused by something as simple as that. I'll give it a week then I'll lower it back and we'll see if the issues go away then come back.

Does the site have a Patreon or something?

Always a relief to hear it's not just me! I use Google Chrome but I'm right now testing on Internet Explorer and haven't run into any problems. Old reliable.

Re: Site and Forum maintenance
AV does not have a Patreon. The money for upping the RAM isn't that much, so not a big deal to try it out.
One of the potential causes for some of those errors people have posted is cache problems, so if you notice changing browsers helps, that might be something to look into.

Well, yesterday and that other day with the Oscar banner I cleared my history, cache, cookies etc. and still have the issue.

Then that's not the problem probably!

I should also mention that what I described happens when I'm on my phone too, but when I get locked out if I turn off my Wi-Fi and switch to mobile data it behaves itself! Another piece to the strange puzzle.

Re: Site and Forum maintenance
I must say, apart from the pre-Oscars day testing and updates, the Forum has been hunky-dory for me, at least, on iOS and Windows computer. Maybe it’ll just take a few days for the new version to work it’s way through your system, Dan?

Re: Site and Forum maintenance
This morning I was reading a few threads and then I got that error message again and couldn't get the site back. I cleared cookies and same thing. A few hours later I'm able to get back on. So weird.

Tested on Chrome right now and yep, same old same old. Clicking though some threads and poof locked out.

Weird indeed. I’ve checked via Chrome on my pad, outside of usual Safari, and all seems fine on a small "walkabout" the site…

Next time you get the chance, ditto James, try going to a huge thread (Disney+ for example) start with the first post and work yourself up. Not reading it, just waiting until the page is finished loading. It varies at times, but usually the board gives out around the 20-35 click. (page starts to run slow until the error page pops up) I know that sounds like a lot, but just casually browsing, catching up, posting, quoting, editing, searching, believe me the clicks add up fast! Hopefully you can then see what we're talking about!
