Thankfully Sky Showcase has just confirmed they’re going to simulcast their UK-exclusive Sky Cinema showing, so I’ll be able to jump in here too, which is cool as this is one of the most interesting and close races of good to excellent films in years! See you then! :)

Hi, all. Looking forward to the annual chat. Hopefully I'll do better than the last couple of years! Depending on EEAAO doing well, even though I didn't like it at all. It took me three tries to even make it through.

One of the more overrated films.

Ooh, thems fightin' talk, buster! ;)

Everything Everywhere is, for me, totally unique out of this year's crop, and its ambitions were matched by its accomplishments. Also every other film didn’t offer anything you weren’t expecting or knew what they were going to be like. No, not everyone could plug into Everything, but for those of us that did, I’m glad it’s being deservedly recognised.

Ditto!

And it looks like I can stream the broadcast this year, with CTV offering it over their app. Yay! I'm looking forward to this show more than I have in a few years, for sure. I'm really hoping for the Everything folks, and Brandan Fraser.

I haven’t seen The Whale, and obviously it’s great that Fraser is getting a career comeback, but apparently it’s a pretty nasty film (not a surprise from Aronofsky). I’m hoping Austin Butler takes it, but can understand it going to Fraser. Just another example of how razor-edge this year’s choices are! :)
