DetailMan strikes again!

You'll also notice DElf - when the crews come and find Lightning at Radiator Springs, a hellicopter shines a spot abruptly down on them. When this happens Mater starts running around yelling "It's the ghost light!"

Ahh, yeah, I noticed that one, too, I just didn't remember it until you mentioned it. D'oh!

Well... seeing as this thread is (supposedly) about "One Man Band," one of the things that I enjoyed the most was the surround sound. Even though it's not really all that special or anything, it still made the experience a lot of fun, at least for little old worst-technology-in-the-world-back-at-home me. :D Especially when the strings guy first was heard from offscreen, and the other times after that when the offscreen player would start playing.

By the way, does anyone know which one-man band was Treble and which was Bass? I'd like to be able to call them by their names. I'd think that the strings guy is Treble and the brass guy is Bass, but that's just a guess.

You guessed right! Treble is the strings player and Bass is the brass player. Treble's my fave.

Do you know the name of the little girl? :P

Who brought that up? That's the one with the train going down to heck, right? Haven't thought about that in a loooong while... :)

From Wikipedia....
A ghost light is any one of many unusual visual phenomena that appear in specific areas around the world. This describes the appearance of lights where one presumes there should be none. There is no single explanation for what causes ghost lights, but possible causes are mirages, refracted light from automobile headlights, swamp gas, ball lightning, St. Elmo's Fire, Will o' the wisp or the piezoelectric effect from underground quartz crystals.

"Ghost Light"?

There's a Dr. Who episode with that title.
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

We were talking about that new short that will be included in the Cars DVD, if that's what you were asking about.

Ahaa!

There was an old short where a train went down into heck. I thought that might have been the title. Been lookin' for it for years!

No, this one drove himself, from memory. It was about him being late one too many times. Good lookin' short.

Lifted - Pixar's latest short

Post by Kaszubas » February 15th, 2007, 6:26 am

Hi :) I know that shorts usually get much less attention than features so I hesitated to add new thread just about one of those little animation masterpieces, but couldn't decide where to post news about it, so here it is - little new thread :)

Pixar has updated its homepage (and short film section) with some more information about lifted and nice pics :) Enjoy!

Cool thanks for the heads up. I can't wait to see this film. The designs remind me very much of Monsters Inc, and I'm loving the slogan:Failure is an option. Genius!
