The history of the site
Can anyone give me a history of the site (how it was started and when etc)? I'm really nosy, and was just wondering how one of my favourite sites came about!
Thanks!
Thanks!

We took up where Animated Movies left off. Back in something like late September 2003 Olivier, the guy who ran Animated Movies, was offered a job at DreamWorks. He accepted the job but it would mean that he couldn't run his site anymore. So he posted a message at the site saying it was all ending soon. So me and a couple other people went to his message board and suggested that he pass the torch on to some others. He thought that would be a good idea and he picked a team to take over. He also approved the new name of the site and the new logo for the site from among several of each that were suggested. We began somewhere around October 18, 2003.

It had issues where it would stop and start working depending on its mood. I did some work on it about a month ago and have not noticed any problems since then. However, I am looking for a replacement search engine because of another (internal) problem.Meg wrote:Complaining again...
I think something’s wrong with the search engine on the main page.

Has anyone noticed our memberlist lately? Apparently spam-bots have figured out how to register for this board and there are a bunch of new members that are nothing but fake names listing websites (porn and casinos mostly it looks like). I'm going to go through all the most recent members and delete any that look suspicious. I've also changed the member registration to require people to enter in a randomly generated series of letters and numbers that appear on a warped image - bots can't see these and therefore can't register.
