The story you guys posted of spongebob the longest kids show--is getting called out online! People bringing up pokemon still going and was out years before spongebob and doreamon and of course Sazae-san started in the 60s and still going with over 7000 episodes many are sure beat spongebob 25 year run!

It's pretty easy to explain. Chalk it up to typical American myopia. Nickelodeon doesn't realize there's a world outside the USA.

If they had said "longest running American animated kids show," then they'd be okay.
