In fact, it was the "hit single" off the first spinoff record album, "The Simpsons Sing the Blues", which was being mania-marketed at the time. (And sold as such.)

And yet, it's not a bad album. I particularly like "Deep, Deep Trouble" and "God Bless the Child".

Slightly different topic, am I crazy or did the new episode of the Simpsons contain a little homage to UP?

Indeed it did! They also did a parody of WALL-E not too long ago.

Loved how they wrote Al Jëan in the end credits. ;)

This upcoming Wednesday's episode of Top Chef Masters will feature a challenge that will be judged by, at the very least, Matt Groening and Hank Azaria. It is implied through the preview shown at the end of the last episode that the chefs will be cooking dishes as though Simpsons characters made them (or at least inspired by them). Azaria goes into character a couple times as Chief Wiggum and Moe. ("It'll be an interesting morning when Chief Wiggum puts a little somethin' extra in his coffee.")

Top Chef Masters airs on Wednesday at 10pm EST on Bravo.

It appears to be a Quickfire Challenge. The chefs draw knives to determine which Simpsons character they would cook a dish for under a specific time limit.

You can view a preview of the challenge here:

That's why I didn't see it, I was looking on Food Network! Got confused since they've had a few Simpson cake challenges in the past. Silly me. Thanks for the clarification.

Neat preview, can't wait to see what they come up with.

Well, the episode has aired. If you missed it, don't worry. Bravo will be replaying it a lot between now and the airing of the next episode.

Real quick, the Top Chef Masters page at BravoTV.com has a vote going on, probably for a week, of which Simpsons character you'd like to dine with: Bart, Homer, Marge, or Moe.

So to recap the dishes cooked:

Moe's Dish

Millet Crispy Treats with Peanut Butter Chips, Donuts, and Mexican Hot Chocolate
Cooked by Susan Feniger

Chief Wiggum's Dish

Fried Bacon Honey Pizza Dough with Boozy Coffee
Cooked by Tony Mantuano

Marge's Dish

Purple Potatoes, Pan Roasted Pork Chop, and Glazed Grapes with Mustard Sauce
Cooked by Susur Lee

Homer's Dish

Shrimp "Sloppy D'oh!" with Truffle Chips and Beer
Cooked by Rick Moonen

Lisa's Dish

Cracked Wheat Salad with Goat's Milk Ricotta, Barbecue Beets, and Baked Kale Chips
Cooked by Jody Adams

Apu's Dish

Tomato Soup with Rice, Chickpeas, Chutney, Melon, and Nuts
Cooked by Marcus Samuelsson

Bart's Dish

Spaghetti Bambino with Grilled Tomato, Ham and Cheese Sandwich
Cooked by Jonathan Waxman

Those who've seen it, what do you guys think? Any one daring to attempt to cook one of these?

Thought it was entertaining, if a bit short. Was afraid of that with the name "Quickfire Challenge". They all did pretty good jobs making food for the characters, my favorite would probably be a tie between Chief Wiggums and Bart's. Hank Azaria's reaction to some of the dishes was funny, especially Moe's.

Would I dare to make one these dishes myself? Probably not. ;)
