I love when they play "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow" by The Shirelles. Funny moment and one of my favorite songs!

Except in the simpsons homer than follows up with "except the voice sounds guy! He was great!" than starts making sound effects like jones!

Also, how about a cartoon from a film series George Clooney was in?

You left off the "Did you?" part. Boo-urns! ;)
“I was saying ‘Boo-urns.’ ” :-(
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

And now...let's move deeper into the rabbit hole of declining 80s-90s Saturday morning:

(I'm willing to bet money nobody remembers ANYTHING about the Karate Kid cartoon except for the shrinking episode.)

They remember the episode they go back home and the movie one characters show up! The girlfriend from movie 1 is back with the bully who acts even worse to her! It was neat having more of the movie characters show up and all the magic stuff happing at their home this time.

Here is one no one thinks of. It's based on a show--that's a spin-off of a movie! So, it's both!

The moonrunners cartoon!

I still have my Moonrunners taped off TV VHS! And don’t forget Thunder Road from the late 50s, I think, a late noir-ish thriller which Moonrunners is kinda sorta a remake-ish of, or at least based on the same idea (and also with James Mitchum). I remember seeing Moonrunners long after Dukes started and it not being "as good" because it wasn’t Dukes and felt like a drier, less fun version. And I think by then we had also seen Smokey And The Bandit, which wasn’t far off either!

There were lots of TV series in the late 60s and all through the 70s that were either straight small screen translations with different casts, or shows "inspired" by movies that they couldn’t get right to or were too expensive to continue, so they slimmed them down and changed some names in thinly-veiled reversions…a completely fun alternate topic!

Wow…haven’t thought about Moonrunners in a very looooooooooong time! :)

Neat thing is like the buffy series made the movie canon so did dukes. First episode talks about the events of moonrunners, the main characters of the film are in jail (why you never see them) and the changes to roscoe and uncle jessie are addressed and explained in the first episode!

They even had follow up plots from the film during season one with the old moonshine factory that uncle jessie abandoned.

I donut remember those details in the series, but it makes sense given that so many characters continued into it. They often played them out of order here, so it’s quite likely the first episode wasn’t the first shown here, plus we probably missed some back in the day, *and* that day was a very long time ago! ;)

Don't know if you could count as based on the movie, but:

(I mean, there were two series, a sequel franchise and any number of spinoff MacLeod relatives, but there can only be one.)
