Choke is a bit risqué from what I remember. I guess technically Star material but still feels weird to see a title like that...

I love how Little Miss Sunshine is now a "Disney" movie. If ever there was a film that ostensibly looked like it might be typically Disney family fare, and then turned all those expectations on their head, especially by its end ( ) then its this one. A rare film that I genuinely never wanted to end, lovely, insightful and real as it was.

Although, at the time, audiences were beginning to weary of critics' fascination with its insufferable Indie Quirkiness, it briefly started the Oscar conspiracy theory of "Did 'The Departed' really win Best Picture, or did Jack Nicholson, holding the envelope, save us from a 'Little Miss Sunshine' Best Picture singlehandedly?"

(Film history has since answered that question, not to mention a scenario of what would happen in the case of a Best Picture misreading, but our grateful sentiments remain.)

Little Miss Sunshine for the win. It got Kane’d in one of the misfire years, that one.

The Departed was shite, and its changes made no sense.

Go watch the original Infernal Affairs instead, and then see the full trilogy to marvel at the intricacies of a twisty-turny, complexly interconnected story, skillfully woven.
