The Venture Bros.
The Venture Bros.
The Venture Bros. -- One of the better Adult Swim shows that DOESN'T recycle old Hanna-Barbera footage or rely on stoner jokes to carry the show.
It's the "Frasier" of Cartoon Network comedy.
It's the best Jonny Quest I've ever seen! LOL
Seriously, have any of our intrepid moderators, reporters, or contacts had any feelers out or heard anything about a potential DVD release of the first season of this show?
If Cartoon Network can release Space Ghost Coast-to-Coast, Sealab 2021, and all the other rehashed or Flash shows to DVD, can they at least reward people who STILL watch CN for things other than/besides anime with a DVD release of this show?
Pretty please with sugar on it?

Has The Venture Brothers been renewed or not?
There seems to be some question about whether or not Cartoon Network has renewed The Venture Brothers.
Apparently, they're still on the fence because of "ratings" (translation: no Hanna-Barbera animation footage that can be recycled).
The show costs more than most of the other new-run shows on Adult Swim and has to be animated traditionally unlike the Tom show (which is just still drawings and annoying dialogue) and Flash-produced series like Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
It'll really stink if CN takes off one of the few shows that I still genuinely enjoy on CN. The rest of Adult Swim is pretty much junk and I could do without the millionth rerun of Big O or Cowboy Bebop at this point in time.
It's funny that one of my other favorite shows currently is NOT being rerun, either. If you miss the Saturday premiere of new Justice League Unlimited episodes, you're SOL. CN is no longer rerunning the episodes on Sundays or Saturday noons like they used to... And yet Teen Titans and practically every other show gets rerun a million time during the week!
I tells ya -- there's age discrimination on CN!

The Venture Brothers Renewed for another season!
Here, http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=2491
There IS an Animation God!
One of the few new series that is ACTUALLY GOOD is being renewed on Cartoon Network after a long spell of hearing NOTHING about renewal...
It stinks that the Season 2 shows (and only 13?) don't air until early next year, but it's good to hear this show IS coming back!
I'm definitely buying the first season set of the only Adult Swim show that I find worth owning on DVD so far...
P.S. -- For all the hype about Robot Chicken prior to it airing, I find that show to be mostly purile Frat Boy humor. Really not worth your time, IMHO.

I enjoyed the first season when I got the dvd and am looking forward to seeing the second season when that dvd is released (4/17/07 mark it on your calenders, folks) so this is great news. Personally, I think that if the Aqua Teen movie is successful (against all odds) then Williams Street should definitely do a Venture Bros. movie. And because of the nature of the show, they wouldn't have to call it Venture Bros. The Movie either, they could come up with a more creative title (or subtitle).

Better late than never, Animated Views now has a review up for this title:
http://animated-views.com/2007/the-vent ... eason-one/
Of course, this title came out before Animated Views was even in existence, but as we will be reviewing the Season 2 set shortly, I figured we'd better have a review for Season 1!
