Re: Looney Tunes Golden/Platinum Collections
It’s impossible to think that Hyde And Go Tweet hasn’t ever had a release before (it even opens their press release!). It used to be a mainstay on broadcast and old collections. Glad to see it here finally in HD.
Some other good ones, too, and, even if they aren’t the best, nice to see some more of the 60s 'toons get a bit of a look…they are part of the history after all.
Not sure I get the two "bonus" shorts…no complaints, but I wonder what is it about them that doesn’t mean they’re worthy of making this a 27-cartoon collection…?

Those two have been on DVD before, but cropped to widescreen. Here in Vol. 4, they will have that corrected.

But still no reason why they are “bonuses”. Other toons have had other transfers in DVD with alternate title cards and the like…

I know. It's odd. But that's the reason. I guess it gives them a bullet point to use.

But aren't all the others new to disc?

"Hyde and Go Tweet" is one of my absolute favorite Looney Tunes!! Friz Freleng was so good with that sort of thing.

Re: Looney Tunes Golden/Platinum Collections
Hey, did you guys see on Facebook today, several Looney Tunes pages are advertising a new Blu-Ray release, coming I think in June or July - "Looney Tunes Collector's Vault" - looks like an expansion of "Collector's Choice." this one is going to be 2 Blu-Ray discs, with 50 cartoons. Looks pretty cool!!

"COMING ON JUNE 17th from THE WARNER ARCHIVE COLLECTION!
LOONEY TUNES COLLECTOR'S VAULT Volume 1-
The new collection will feature 50 animated shorts across 2 BD-50 discs.
Disc One will contain 25 shorts never before remastered on DVD or Blu-ray!
Disc Two will contain 25 shorts never before on Blu-ray!
In the near future, we will announce further details of this collection including the titles of the 50 classic shorts which will be included."
I'd say this looks fantastic.

Re: Looney Tunes Golden/Platinum Collections
I figured they might start doing multi-disc sets after that collection of the four Collector's Choice discs, though they could have just kept that name and made the next one a two-disc special. Whatever…always great to see more new to disc Tunes!! And the "Vault" name perhaps suggests some ever deeper, more obscure or, dare we say, usually "forbidden" cuts…?

Re: Looney Tunes Golden/Platinum Collections
Of the "new to disc" cartoons, we certainly will be looking at deeper and deeper cuts. There are not so many cartoons left of the major characters that haven't already been on either DVD or Blu-ray. Nearly every Bugs Bunny cartoon has been covered, we have 101 Porkys already, most of the Daffys, all Taz and Marvin shorts have been covered, and most or all of the Pepe and Foghorn shorts... While some fans will find the non-major cartoons less enticing, I find it pretty exciting.

Re: Looney Tunes Golden/Platinum Collections
25 shorts never on BD could include a fair batch of classic characters, though, including newer transfers of some of those Porkys, but, yes, it’s the lesser known stuff that I always find excited to find a few hidden gems in!

Re: Looney Tunes Golden/Platinum Collections
I just finished the second volume of Collector's Choice, and loved how many "non (main) character" shorts there were on it.
With the current Vault model, they have a winning concept - potentially one disc of largely one-offs new to disc, and one disc of HD upgrades of the big guns.
