Might explain why Sony went off the whole Popeye concept, knowing it was going to go PD imminently. No point putting a ton of cash into a project to give another/rival one a lot of free publicity. The only good thing about these films is the limited release and fairly quick fade away they have. Ultimately, they thankfully seem to go the way of the Asylum type films, known for a bit but quickly forgotten.
