Oh boy. Here we go with another toy franchise.
Actually, it might be interesting to see how this would differ from the big-screen Transformers films.

Well, since it's being made as a response to the TransFormers films...I'm doubting it'll be much different...!

Think it's more of Hasbro's response to Battleship:
"Okay, let's admit it, we're in it for the Transformers, and we're never going to have any luck bringing our other game projects into the stream..."
The fact that it probably won't be directed by Michael Bay (because it's different, you see!) may give us an alternate look at how things might have turned out differently, for good and bad.
Unless they get the Battleship director again.

Well no Bay is a given since he isn't even down for TransFormers 5 at the moment, and I wonder if they're not looking to try something else out before they return to that franchise. I thought the fourth one was supposed to launch a new trilogy, but since Bay has said he's not coming back it seems to have gone quiet on that front.
If it's going to take a while to set up another TransFormers then it makes sense they'd go for something very similar, that would fill a gap and make a lot of moolah.
