Brave

Post by Josh » May 24th, 2009, 2:13 pm

In an interview with Coming Soon, Pete Doctor commented:
Pete Doctor wrote:Once in a while, we're at these meetings where we all look at Toy Story 3 or Brave or whatever and we all give comments and notes, but that's just like a day here or there.
What is Brave? /Film thinks it is either a new name for The Bear and the Bow, or a new Brave Little Toaster project.

I read it aswell, don't think it'll be a new movie, would be way too early imo
I think it's the new short

Nothing on IMDb, but I'll entertain theories that TB2 might be considering a title change at some point--
Pixar had its title back when a princess and a frog didn't have an ampersand in their title, and Lasseter traditionally worries about one studio's product being confused for another's.

If it is a new short, though, that's good too.
(Although I keep thinking "Brave" suggests "native" so we may just have to see.)

Sounds like a short film to me, I mean Pixar is in production of alot of stuff so it cannot be a movie.

Whatever else, it's not a new Brave Little Toaster movie.

Turns out Brave is an internal name for The Bear and the Bow, according to The Pixar Blog.

That was my assumption. But that is exciting. Man I'm excited for somethingthat won't be happening for years. :D How I wish i worked at Pixar.

I actually kind of like this title a little more.

Though, a Brave Little Toaster would be interesting, especially since Lasseter was originally going make that back in the 1980s.

Seems like it's more than an internal name - it's going to be a straight re-naming?

I really liked 'The Bear and the Bow', but ah well :p.

If they do, what's the point? Are bears too feminine, now?

Nope, but bows are!

And at the new boy-ccentric Disney, The Bear And The Bow probably just sounded too much like another fairytale as opposed to the adventure sounding Brave! ;)

Yeah, every Native American or Foreign Tribesmen whoever used a bow was a girly-man!
