Re: Strange World
Man, this film is not getting any buzz online at all. John campea show even just did a whole segment on people forgot this film was even coming out and disney is not doing a "in your face" push for it like the other animated films. And one of the co-hosts is a disney nut and had a cameo in rescue rangers film and she forgot this film was even coming out!
I'm really getting a atlantis/ treasure planet vibe and that may not be good for this films box office.

Re: Strange World
It may not be good for the box office but it means there is a really strong chance I will enjoy it. Those two movies (along with The Black Cauldron) are usually the forgotten Disney movies I am happy to recommend to others to watch.

Strange World is a strange film, and not knowing much about it is probably the way to go so that it turns out to be a pleasant surprise!

Strange World and Puss In Boots: The Last Wish are probably going to be steamrolled by Avatar 2 and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever this holiday season.

Re: Strange World
Gosh, it’s so *desperate*, isn’t it!?
I don’t think this film knows what it is, what it wants to be, or what it wants us to think it is.
Which could turn out to be pure genius and a real good time…or a complete mess that they want to put out, bury, forget and move on.
I hope it’s the former…but I’m not holding my breath.

Oh, it'll be a good time... in a mediocre, 2020s animated family film kind of way.
I'd like it better if they moved away from a bouncy, rubbery "house style" of characters and environments.

Re: Strange World
And yet many people seem okay with accepting new mediocrity, if just because it’s the best that can be hoped for. No! There’s over a hundred years of better movies to go back and revisit!
Used to be a time when three or four years between animated films meant those films came with a measure of quality. Nowadays it really is just the quantity that seems to matter. Honestly, a few recent Disney films I’ve only picked up because, well darn it, I have the other 50+ so might as well keep going, eh?
I’m still holding out a bit of wacky hope for this…but certainly not much.

Still looks good to me. Only the designs are still turning me off for whatever reason.
