Not bad, not great. Just ok. Not really memorable.

In addition to "Reflection", Christina is getting a new original song "Loyal Brave True":

Re: Mulan (Live-action remake)
I am quite impressed. I like the cultural references in the music, the reference to the story (in fact in sounds like an alternate possibility to the original Reflection especially the reference to the water). Even the parts that sound Eurovision-y don't distract from the song. It's not instantly memorable but it's also doesn't feel tacked on like Elton's song for the remake of The Lion KIng. And Chrsitina shows restraint in her singing. I actually know have faith she won't destroy her re-recording of Reflection.
Since Gregson-Williams co-wrote the song, fingers crossed the song uses some of his score. It's been so long since a movie has used the score to create an original song.

Yeah, it’s a safe bet that his involvement means he’s using the song throughout the score, though I would think it would be that way around, weaving both together.

"Reflection" sung by Liu Yifei in Mandarin:
Beautiful. Can't wait to hear the English version!

It's giving me the same block message now too. Well!
Those reviews are positively glowing! After the leaks I read, gives me some hope... in spite of the way they're phrased. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.

It's only a recent blockage as I was able to watch it yesterday (my time) and now it's blocked today (my time)

..."the best live action remake since Cinderella."
So, can we take that to mean infinitely superior to any live action remake, then?

No, infinitely subpar to the original animated film!

Or that Beauty&Beast, Dumbo, Aladdin and Lion King really were as crappy as we thought they were, and the last good one we had was back when actual name directors did them?

Re: Mulan (Live-action remake)
Well...see...there’s the thing. Maleficent, Dumbo and Aladdin were all infinitely better than the pointless and wish-washy Cinders, which admittedly was better than The Lion King and Beauty And The Beast.
As we’ve said before, these things are better when they don’t slavishly follow the originals, and Mulan possibly looks to be the one that’s almost nothing like its animated counterpart, so of *course* it’s going to be better than some of the others.

Mulan is being delayed indefinitely worldwide. Probably for the best to be safe. And smart since it was already being pushed back for China.
