Probably because the last time they aired a half-hour ABC special in front of "Coco" in theaters, it didn't work out so well?

Re: Disney's Wish
That was so stupid. "it was too long" If it was disneys first 30 min short is one thing but it was like the 13th half hour theatre short plus disney had hour long theatre shorts and double features and dumbo the FULL FILM was a bonus short in front of ride a wild pony. Care bears movie a big huge hit by the way had a 30min strawberry shortcake short with it and they had 2 hour long he-man shorts in theatres.Probably because the last time they aired a half-hour ABC special in front of "Coco" in theaters, it didn't work out so well?
The same people who gripped than i bet saw the almost three hour avengers films, 3 hour lord of the rings and avatar 2. Thanks to these guys we will never get another mickey christmas carol or prince in the pauper again from disney in theatres.

Don’t worry! I’m playing the 26m Once Upon A Mouse before Walt: The Man Behind The Myth in mid October, so the tradition is alive and well, at least here!

Still looks unpolished, like the rendering and lighting. Asha really felt like Anna 2.0. Dahlia's voice sounds odd. Kinda sounds more like a boy.

Asha is like Mirabel like Anna like Rapunzel. They really just make the same type of protagonist.

Asha feels a little quirkier, but yeah. Wish they would mix it up a little.

I mean they complained over that in the 90s also. Animaniacs even did a song over it.

Funny about the rendering…we all said that about Raya and Encanto in trailer form, too!

Re: Disney's Wish
You did? Raya and Encanto looked like their usual CGI output, though I remember having issues with the characters design rather than the rendering.

Re: Disney's Wish
It's funny because they used the word heroine instead of princess, that's because the term "Disney Princess" wasn't widely used back then because the franchise only started in 2000.

Re: Disney's Wish
Probably because they only had three before the 90's Renaissance added five by 1998.
No, Asha has to be as hopefully discombobulated and well-meaning awkward as Mirabelle, to show that she's trying so hard but EVERYTHING SEEMS AGAINST HER!Asha is like Mirabel like Anna like Rapunzel. They really just make the same type of protagonist.
Anna, OTOH, like Joy, was an optimist, and therefore, to female fans, a happy comical-babbling delusional lunatic because she doesn't see the cynical side of things like SMART girls (eg. Elsa) should...
And even if Asha does seem to suggest "Why didn't they just go ahead and make an Elena of Avalor movie, sheesh?", it doesn't help that I keep mistaking her animal-pal goat for a rabbit--
Probably because he basically looks, talks and acts like a separated-at-birth twin of "Sofia the First"'s Clover...Are we sure Wayne Brady isn't voicing him?

Re: Disney's Wish
Wow! That whole Disney Renaissance happened in 1990!? I was sure I thought it was longer! Wow, just one year (even if some films took longer to come out, evidently). No wonder so many of them were burnt out after that intense period…
True what you say about Elena Of Avalor, though! I’ve never seen more than a few trailers and clips from it and yet I was trying to work out what Wish was reminding me of!
