That sums it up perfectly, Meg!! :D
You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

BTW, at least for Alvin....it's the exact same VO as in the 80s. Wow.
Brought back memories, at least in a "What in the name of G-d have they done to my to my childhood" sort of way.

And Dave? The less said about him, the better!!  :?

Jason Lee is great...in a good movie with a good director.
The teaser really showed him talking to thin air instead of Alvin.
Btw, the way he screamed Alvin....terrible !!

On a positive note, the animation isnt all bad.

The voice of Alvin (and Simon!), from the 1980's through today, is Ross Bagdasarian, Jr .. the son of Ross Bagdasarian, the singer who originated the entire Chipmunks concept in the 1950's.

Ross, Jr is also credited as a writer for this live-action adaptation .. which was one of the reasons I had high hope for this project. However, much of that hope has now been 'dashed' by the final sequence in the new teaser. :(

Though the Chipmunks are noted for 'toe-ing the line' with their hi-jinks .. they never crossed that line into 'scatological' humor. I'm rather disappointed in Ross, Jr .. and I'm pretty sure his father would have been, as well. :?

I thought it looked awful. Not only don't they look like the original chipmucks, they don't look like real chipmucks either! Far too fluffy, not believable at all.

I'm not talking about the look of the characters, I'm talking about the animation

Ben, go to movie list.
That way you can also see the Horton Hears A Who trailer and every other trailer otherwise featured exclusively on AOL.

Thanks J!

I saw the Horton one yesterday thanks to the international link, so I can see this one now...

Um, I wish I hadn't looked. The opening had fun alluding to the Beatles, I guess, but then went so far off the rails it hurt.

Just what is going on over there with Fox's hybrid live-action/CG team? Surely they have no souls, or at least have made a pact with Satan himself? If this does even moderately well, we'll know for sure...

Some of that was actually quite questionable. :?
