I mentioned that book briefly in the review and was hoping that it might get a reprint due to Frank's recent passing and the DVD release (I'd even take it with new cover art to reflect the new DVD).
Those interested in the original print run can pay through the nose on eBay or check Amazon.com:

Shame it's not out again now, or any of "The Sketch-book Series".

Hello again!
Anyone able to help me with the poster offer in the Bambi DVD?
In the "Disney DVD Insider" magazine, there's a link to mail in for a re-issue poster from the film. Now, not only do I not live in the US, but I don't have a mailing address I could have it sent to. Would anyone be willing to accept the poster and forward it on to me here in the UK?
Would be much appreciated (and if you're thinking of having one for yourself, might I suggest that you get a non-interested friend to accept the second one for you)?
Naturally, I would be happy to pay costs to the UK (posters to the UK usually cost about $7-15 to send over), via anyone's PayPal account.
Thanks!

Bambi in HD on 6/4/2005
from ABC
"Disney's Bambi will air on Saturday, June 4th in HDTV and in 5.1 surround. Please note, however, the film is being shown in its original aspect ratio, 1.33:1. This will appear 'pillar boxed' on 16:9 HDTV monitors."

Didn't think it was big enough news, but if you disagree we can post it! Every time ABC has shown a Disney animated film on Saturday nights Wonderful World of Disney program recently it has been a widescreen movie shown in HD. I think this is the first time they are showing a movie that was in 1.33:1 aspect, so apparently some people asked about how it would be shown.
I guess the HD broadcast will be great for people who have HDTVs and HD recorders -- all 5 or 10 of them!
Seriously, though, does it REALLY improve most animated films to be broadcast in HD? I'd think it wouldn't really improve them at all because A) the color's flatter than real life any way and B) what you're going to see more are whatever scratches or nicks have accumulated on the film over the years. Just how many extra line details and "wrinkles" are you really going to see? For an animated film, HD may just be overkill that doesn't add up to a heck of a lot of extra oomph!
I just don't see where you're going to get vastly improved detail and greater color in an HD broadcast. In fact, some older films and TV shows you DON'T want to see in HD because you're going to see how bad the makeup and special effects stand out because of the increased resolution! These older shows and films were NEVER intended to be broadcast in high-definition and TV sets -- even regular NTSC -- have gotten much better in reception and color resolution since these shows were originally broadcast.
There already are complaints about how some of the makeup and effects on the original Star Trek don't look so good on REGULAR DVD. That stuff is just going to stand out that much worse when and if the show gets remastered for HD DVD!

(stands up) Lol
Hello people how are u doin? I am new to this forum so i introduce myself. My name is Tom Magneto. I live in Mexico but iWas born on england and lived there for 3 yrs. I shall give my opinion about the Twos.
I think That Movies like the hunchback 2 or the little mairmaid 2 arent the same thing as the oners because you just leave a conclusion to your mind and leave it to your imagination to continue it, andd when the twos go out you dont feel the same illusion you felt whn you saw the first movie. Thats why second ones had been a waste of time. well thats my opinion. Maybe and i am wrong.
(sits down)
(forgets something and stands up again)
But i think bambi 2 will be a good movie, But i will not enjoy it with the illusion of Bambi 1 Because i saw that movie when i was a child, and its not the same thing. And yes, it will apear on the cinemas.
sorry if i said stupid thing lol

These are from a live journal community to do with screencaps, and there are some Bambi screencaps of Bambi as an adult. The latter link includes a link to a gallery of over 400 pictures!
