Re: The Croods
And perhaps therein lies the rub: creative differences between which "football" to feature, perhaos with the actual game sequences more of a priority for Aardman over DWs' larger story or franchise ambitions...? Certainly interesting that both came out with such source-sharing films soon afterwards. If anything, I did think Early Man was a little swamped by the football game, while Croods looks more character driven.

Feels like forever since the original came out. I'm looking forward to this. Looks great.

Well, we thought that Trolls: World Tour would be the big last-waltz farewell tour for DreamWorks back when it was going to open in theaters, but...
Anyway, the new owners want to play with their old 00's-10's toy, so we've got this, the Shrek reboot, and, we'll probably get some excuse to reboot the Dragon trilogy.

They are making a puss and boots 2 also.
Surprised with hero films so big never have not got monsters vs aliens 2 or megamind 2 yet.

MvA had a...really BAD cable-series version in the Nickelodeon days before Netflix, that pretty much used up the last of its goodwill that the holiday network specials hadn't used up, and if any of DW's new owners even remember Megamind, I'll give them a buck-ninety-five.
At this point, the new owners just want to see which of the Marketable Brandnames are still marketable, so consider one more Kung Fu Panda movie when-not-if.

There's been rumblings of a part 4 for a while now. I'd be up for it. I feel it's one of the best, most consistent franchises. Skadoosh.

Re: The Croods
Fourth parts for Panda and Madagascar were mooted right before Katzenberg sold the company. They were still said to be on the slate by Universal when the dust settled, as well as the revival of Shrek. Looks like Croods is the first pre-sale franchise to get another film in its series, but they are all coming!
