I agree that it might have been best to leave Dr. Calico off of the cover. I think some kids who have not seen the film might be a little disappointed to learn his role is not as big as the cover suggests. Nonetheless, I really like that Bolt DVD and Blu-ray artwork.Whippet Angel wrote:Actually, it would make more sense if they just got rid of Calico. Sorta like this german poster.

Here is some more info on the Bolt Blu-ray and DVD editions. It turns out that the Blu-ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo will be released on Sunday, March 22. The standard DVD versions will arrive March 24.
Unfortunately, both of those dates are extremely close to March 21, which is when Twilight will hit stores. I still think Twilight opening against Bolt is the main thing that hurt the latter film at the box office. But you never know, now that word-of-mouth has spread about the movies, Bolt may end up beating Twilight this time.

Actually, since both "Twilight" and "Bolt" were aiming for completely different audiences, it seems to me that they wouldn't have much of an impact on each other. If "Bolt" got a blow from anything, it was "Madagascar."

I see your point and agree that Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa probably affected Bolt's box office reception. Still, I think people from Twilight's target audience helped, even if just a little, many of Pixar's and DreamWorks Animation's films make over $200 million at the box office. With that in mind, on the weekend when Bolt and Twilight opened against each other, I believe several folks would have seen Bolt if a phenomenon such as Twilight had not been a new option.

Yes, I think it's great and think "Princess and the Frog" could actually beat "Up "at Oscars 2009 (but that's a ways off). But for sure, no way could "BOLT" beat "WALL-E", as much as I'd like it to!

Single Disc Standard DVD (March 24)
2-Disc Deluxe DVD (I guess with only 24 minutes of extra material) (March 24)
Blu-ray which includes the standard single disc DVD (March 22)

Good for Bolt but it's not right that Enchanted didn't got 2 discs too but that means that there's going a Special Edition for Enchanted.
