Okay, so he's JUST British and anarchist then. Which explains why he keeps beating up on classic British literary characters with ugly porn fantasies. (Dacey said it, I didn't; I was just agreeing.)
But c'mon, why d'you think the Wachowskis were so interested in doing V For Vendetta in the first place?--Because they wanted to sell a lot of plastic masks to computer hackers?

You can't really go wrong with anything pre Justice League War. The Dark Knight Returns parts 1@2, and Batman and Superman Apocalypse are my personal favorites

Re: DC Universe Animated Original Movies
Bump!
After the mindboggling debacle of The Killing Joke, these guys really are knocking it out of the park again.
Justice League Dark was pretty great, deftly melding Constantine, Batman, Swamp Thing, The Demon, etc. into an epic and fun magic tale.
And I just watched Teen Titans: The Judas Contract tonight. They got the feel of the Titans right, making them a family that cares about each other--- a much different type of team than the JLA. As someone who LOVED the 1980s comic, when I was a teen myself, I give Judas Contract a hearty thumb's up! Great bonuses too, including a half-hour Wolfman-Perez on-camera reunion.
And the sneak peek at Batman and Harley Quinn makes it look like a winner too.
Nice to see these movies on such a nice track again.

Aw, yeah. More like this, please!
Retro, but not overly kitschy. Now if we could just get a 1940s JSA adventure!

That’s funny...I was going to post "hey, what's Bruce Lee doing in a Batman cartoon?", and then he actually went training! With OJ! Funky, if nothing else.

First look at Justice Society: World War II:

I like! Nice to see lesser characters will have a moment to shine.

I am very excited for this film, though I would have loved a bigger cast (I suppose more heroes may make cameos). The costume designs are great, but the figures look amateurish. Hopefully, the animation comes off well.

Re: DC Universe Animated Original Movies
This is, as you know, my problem with getting into these films: they’re often so cheaply made they look amateurish, as you say. The only one that really worked, story and design wise, was New Frontier that you sent me, and that only because it had that specific dated look that made them put a little more effort into make them move better (and that was a long time ago!).
But whenever I have been moved enough to catch a new one of these, they just come off as cheap or not compelling, unlike Bats: TAS which has that real noirisj design ethos, and I think was helped by being shot to film and not the ultra clean interlaced digital video look of the current crop of titles that show up all the banding and imperfections...perfectly!

Trailer:
Looks interesting, although I feel throwing Barry in is unnecessary. Detracts from the period piece angle. His mask is ugly!

Hmmmm..... The animation looks much better than the first still image had suggested (fairly typical, really), though Barry's mask IS ugly, and WW's hair is oddly poofy on top. They also gave Black Canary powers she didn't have back then, but that's okay. I would have been fine leaving out Barry, but I can live with it, and I understand why they did it. The cover looks nice, too.

Very cool.
Also, in the trailer, that sounds like Jeremy Irons as the president?

I just noticed now that the lower "wings" part of WW's emblem is coloured white, not yellow, which is how it generally was in the comics of the time. Cool that they thought to do that.

Trailer for Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One:
Art style reminds me of "Archer". Looks pretty good. Voices are on point.
