It's veeeery cool, kind of like the Incredibles site was. Very high-tech.
Some of their stuff isn't working yet though, I guess they don't want to reveal too much too soon.
Love how it echoes the feel of a real car company site!

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

Everyone! The new trailer is up at AOL. I wasn't sure about this film before but this trailer has convinced me. Roll on Cars!

Notice how the trailer is "(c) Disney 2006" and not Disney/Pixar.
Also, the blurb marks this out as "Pixar's first release since being purchased by Disney". That's a little unfair - we know that Rataouille is really the first - and if it flops or doesn't do as well as expected I guess "Disney" will get the blame for "diluting" Pixar's movies.
Oh well, you can't win 'em all!
On the topic of the trailer - NOW, I am just a little excited. Finally we get something that has better renders, full dialogue and a bit more on what to expect. I still think the look is the same old sun-bathed Pixar world of yore, and that Lightning McQueen and the Larry-voiced character are going to end up in buddy-buddy hicksville again, but some of the other visuals here look pretty good.
I just hope those race scenes are not just a central sequence and the rest of the film is flat.

Re: Cars
It looks good. But it looks like a Pixar movie. "Guy learns that BLANK isn't everything (insert "coolness",
"Being the favorite Toy"
"Being the favorite Toy forever"
"Winning the all-time scare record"
"temporary failure"
"Never taking a risk")
I'm sorry to be glib, this is just how it seems to me. It looks like lots of fun and I'm looking foward to it a lot, but I'm not expecting anything radically new.
(But like Ben said, the designs ARE way cool. )

Yep... I knew someone would point that out. Basically, these things have to get encoded and such and to be honest this trailer has probably been sitting around for a couple of weeks. There's every reason that it should have a Disney/Pixar copyright.Kaszubas wrote:Did you see the same trailer that I did ? There was quite big Disney/Pixar mark in the bottom right corner almost from start to finish...
BUT...check out the obviously much more recent copyright notice under the trailer, which would have been written as the clip was actually posted. This one has dropped Pixar and simply says (c) Disney 2006.
Normally this would have had both, which leads me to think that they may well continue to use Pixar as a brand name, but that they do not carry any weight in the copyright stakes - it's all Disney now.
That's to what I was referring to!

Cool nod to Miyazaki's Lupin III in CARS
Here's a cool nod to Miyazaki's Lupin III in CARS. There is a character named Luigi, a Fiat 500 who is a big fan of Ferrari, the very same model that Lupin III drove in Miyazaki's movie "Lupin III". This was spotted by Mickael W Howe over at AnimationNation and i put it in pics on my website:
