Heh, Lasseter looks frustrated for some reason...Probably nothing, though. This doesn't specifically relate to Ratatouille, only Disney-Pixar. Just a weird random picture I found online. The page itself has expired, though, so I have no idea what the context was.

Well, back in 2004, wouldn't you find talking to Michael Eisner scary?

Interesting also because this was an incredibly tense time at Disney anyway EVERYONE was bagging on them for losing Pixar, especially since Incredibles
was such a smash hit with critics and audiences. The SaveDisney site was still going strong and just about every day uploaded an essay about Eisner the monster and Eisner the Man Who Ruined Disney.
And of course that brief glimpse of Cars that we got had some people salivating already.... Pixar was at its peak then and WDFA was getting trashed that year for HOTR. Plus, as if that weren't enough, DreamWorks scored big with both Shrek 2 and SharkTale--$ wise--and just went public that fall.)
Funny thing is Eisner doesn't look all that upset or concerned, I think it was after he announced that he would be leaving in 2 years. (although he left in one) Lassetter DOES look like the more tense one here, maybe 'cause Pixar was in the process of looking for new distributors then? Or maybe because some people weren't reacting all that well to the first glimpse of Cars? One can only guess.

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

Or perhaps after all that had happened, like I hinted to, perhaps Mr Lasseter felt uneasy about talking to Mr Eisner.

How come, do you think? Did he think Eisner would be vengeful and try to ruin him or something?
This pic's funny too: from 2001, supposadly when things were going badly between Eisner and a certain party because Eisner was micro-managing and not letting that person come to animation meetings...or something.
In fact this is about one year before the board gave Eisner a "deadline" to turn the company's faltering economics around. (To a certain extent, he did) One year later said party and said party's lawyer would resign.

(Sorry for getting us off topic.)
EDIT: Whoops, another "technical difficulty." bawpcwpn, could you maybe help out again?

No, not really...it's just that after all the public bad press about what was going on at Team Disney, perhaps JL was a bit nervous about talking to ME. I know that I probably would be.ShyViolet wrote:How come, do you think? Did he think Eisner would be vengeful and try to ruin him or something?

And you guys think that he only talked to ME at premieres??? Um...
The ME/RD pic was towards the beginning of the end...I think they were still talking at this point!
ME: So what about this Atlantis thing, huh? I think my ideas on how to improve the film really whipped it into shape!
RD: Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!

Ha ha.... Nah, I just meant that it's kind of weird because of alll the times Roy recounted how Eisner went "bad" in 1994, and that by 2000/2001/2002 was Darth Sidious personified ....and yet they look like they're havin' a fine old time together... (I've seen pics of Eisner and JK together shortly before K was booted out and they didn't look half as chummy as Eisner and Roy here.)ME: So what about this Atlantis thing, huh? But yeah...let's not go there again...
Yeah kinda, except the SG one has a bigger circle for the gate.Speaking of Atlantis - That "A" logo REALLY reminds me of Stargate's "A" logo...
Probably...he shouldn't have been though...Eisner was on his way out by then and JL, like Brad Bird, was everyone's golden boy and Walt- second-coming nominee, as he still is now.No, not really...it's just that after all the public bad press about what was going on at Team Disney, perhaps JL was a bit nervous about talking to ME. I know that I probably would be.
But I know what you mean Wonder...I think I would be nervous talking to Eisner no matter WHAT the circumstances.
Thanks again bawpcwpn!
