My issue with the lyric changes is that it is clear the decision was made by just reading the lyrics as written on a surface level instead of looking at in context of the song/story.
The women don't talk section in Ursula's song is a combination of manipulating Ariel and putting down human males. Ursula is saying to Ariel "I can have your voice because you won't need it as Prince Eric won't expect you to speak'. It won't' be important to win over Eric with conversation, because men are so shallow all Ariel needs is her look, her face and body language because men are superficial and dumb. The whole song is a masterclass in manipulating a person to get what you want. And Ursula wants Triton's trident and is using Ariel's crush to get it. In fact, one could argue those lines are telling Ariel how to manipulate a man to get what she wants, so it's still female empowerment.
And it's so funny to read they want the lyrics in Kiss The Girl to reflect Eric getting consent from Ariel to make his move, when that whole scene is Ariel manipulating Eric to make a move without his consent. Did these people even watch the original movie. The whole point of the song in that scene is to make it more romantic so Eric has the urge to kiss Ariel. The fact Ariel allows Sebastian to perform the song is consent from Ariel's behalf. And ties back in nicely with Poor Unfortunate Soul where Ariel is taking Ursula's advice and manipulating the male with her looks and face (and ambience) to get what she wants.
This reminds me of the furor over Baby, It's Cold Outside where people just look at those lyrics superfically and demand it be cancelled without understanding the original context it was presented in and understanding the actual story in the song. No wonder songs today have such banal lyrics, because while people seem to like to over analyze things to a ridiculous level (ie trying to turn all the Disney animated films into a connect universe that spans 100 years of production), they seem to only read lyrics superficially and out of context.

As for Baby, It's Cold Outside, it’s all about context and who's singing it. We've had too many versions where it's man chasing female (but hey, we're all humans, it’s what we do to recreate and prolog the human race), but I point you to the *original* 1949 Neptune's Daughter, where not only does The Legend Ricardo Montalban use it to keep Esther Williams around — in a delightfully playful manner I would say — but then see it switched around the other way, from 2:28, and see Red Skelton trying to get *away* from Betty Garrett, and no-one complains about this (or how he ultimately tries to force her out and freeze to death, which would apparently be okay given the reactions to the song). What a world, what a world…
It’s the art of seduction. As with most stupid woke things, without it, we wouldn’t even be here. *And* it’s beautifully choreographed and performed. Classic cinema moments!

And yes, Ricardo was The Legend long before he was Mr. Roarke. Although even that would have been enough.

That's almost an extra hour of stuff. The movie is definitely not aimed at the children's market that's for sure with that runtime. And you just know the final battle is going to be 30 minutes long.
