Walt Disney's Bambi II (Clips and Pictures)
Well I know most of you are very judgemental of the new Disney Sequel (While I have never seen any of them, don't care to) I just thought I'd post these. I would just like to say that I am a huge Bambi fan, it is probably my favorite movie of all time (Call me a softie, I just like Deer, lol, and the film is just terrific) so even though the sequel may be talked about in a bad manner I'm still excited, so to help you all get excited, look at the stuff below..Tell me what you think
http://media.filmweb.no/trailere/bvi/BV ... vbaob7.mov (This is the theatrical trailer...it is much more professional and much better looking than the DVD release trailer)
http://www.totaleclips.com/player/Splas ... pid=e26270 (These are assorted clips from the film (They range about 4-5 min), it is where the pictures below were taken from. No Spoilers, I promise! )

I agree with everyone here. Other than films like Spirited Away, Akira, Roujin Z and a couple of other things, I really dislike Anime. (as I've said before.) To each his own....to me, however, all Anime looks pretty much the same. I'm not saying it's all bad, but the vast majority of what I've seen (on Cartoon Network mostly) is terrible. Some of it could also be the cultural barrier, aka terrible dubbing jobs.
Another thing I dislike about Anime (not trying to offend) is that it by and large seems extremely guy-orientated. There is just so much violence and half-naked women...even though I know there are girls who like Anime as well, it seems to me to be mostly a guy's medium, like video games. (of course I know there are girls that like video games too.)
BTW there is nothing wrong with making guy-orientated entertainment, but it shouldn't be passed off as some great piece of art when it is clearly NOT.
Hey Meg, your picture looks a lot like Kimba.
Anyway, sorry to get off topic...about Bambi 2, I saw ads for it on Toon Disney. It looks pretty and I like the voice of Thumper (very close to the original) but I still think the idea is STUPID. Very "culturally sensitive" and overly PC; Bambi's dad getting in touch with his feelings and being a good dad--c'mon!! That's as bad as Cinderella fixing up her stepsister with some guy! The great thing about Bambi is that we didn't know exactly how he grew up but that he learned nobility and sacrifice by losing his mother and growing up with his dad. Bambi's dad teaching him "life lessons"--too much information! Who cares anyway? That was all covered in the original--Bambi loses mom, learns to deal with loss and responsibilty, becomes King of the Forest. I have no urge whatsoever to see this. It's been done a million times before. I don't care how great it looks.
Bambi's dad: "A prince does not 'whoo-hoo.' "
Ouch.

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

After seeing that generous footage, I have to say that the thing that impresses most is the music score, which sounds almost like it came right out of 1942!
However, the voices are too "young Hollywood" for me, however close (or not) they seem.
Also, is it me, or do Bambi's "spots" on his back come and go?

Well he still has his spots during the winter but he loses them during the spring and he starts growing antlers.
As for the plot: You have a couple chase scenes and a part where a deer gets caught in a trap. Other than that the rest is pretty stupid I agree and the fart jokes are totally unnecessary. It makes the movie and the original movie to lose it's dignity. It's really was never about GP becoming a good father because he never was and never will be but he does grow attached to Bambi. Seeing how they do spend a lot of time with each other it was inevitable.
