A notable thing about the November releases is that it looks like, beginning with those releases, Criterion will pause on releasing new DVDs. It would appear that physical releases from then on will be Blu-ray with the transition into 4K as they're able to.
...They were still releasing DVD's?? :?

(I'll give them the "Golden Age of TV" and "Six WC Fields Shorts", since those were from video sources, but still.)

I’m just glad that most of my Criterions are older, mainly b/w movies that wouldn’t benefit significantly from going 4K.
I imagine this is a big reason why it's taken them so long to do 4K discs. Not to mention some of their newer titles already have 4K releases via their respective distributors (i.e. Pan's Labyrinth, Parasite) so probably would be a case by case basis for them as well when considering whether to produce a 4K disc for a title.

It's...just not going over, 'K? :?

(Speaking of which, the giant "K" cover for the Citizen Kane 4K is prompting old discussions of the Modern Times and Great Dictator covers, and why Criterion disc covers have to be the most looney, pretentious, and anti-intuitive "artsy" covers imaginable...
Criterion, the Czechoslovakian theater poster of Blu-ray.)

Big K…four discs…their lead 4K title…geddit?

The digipack will either fold out to display K A N E or it could be really obvious and just have 4 Ks. Either way, it’s sledgehammer subtle and totally appropriate.

Here's the cover for those who haven't seen it:

Look, it's the K from Citizen Kane!

Looks like they've upped Uncut Gems to be a 4K release as well, bringing the set to 7 at the moment.

Wait, WB has a UK shop that sells discs?!? And yet they closed down their US shop.

And they're not all WB discs, either. They carry Universal titles, too. Guess that's their distribution deal in action.

No Warner Archive, though.

The April releases were announced. The two that stand out to me is a 4K upgrade to For All Mankind and the blu-ray release of The Girl Can't Help It, from former Looney Tunes director Frank Tashlin.

The booklet for the blu ray will apparently also include excerpts from his book How to Create Cartoons.

That's nice, the book goes for a pretty penny!
