DreamWorks' Boss Baby
Re: DreamWorks' Boss Baby
Sounds better than expected. Still not expecting too much from this, but am still intrigued...
Re: DreamWorks' Boss Baby
Kind of upset that Spacey was replaced...oh well.
Also I still think that concept art of the "brain child" or whatever is quite creepy.

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!
Re: DreamWorks' Boss Baby
This is still "Boss Baby" I assume? BOM has it listed slightly differently, "The Boss Baby".

Re: DreamWorks' Boss Baby
It was announced as Boss Baby, but I have also seen it referred to with a The too, recently. I don't know if the change is official, though. We'll have to wait for promos to start running to see what it should actually be called!
Re: DreamWorks' Boss Baby
I guess it's official:

Re: DreamWorks' Boss Baby
At Annecy, there were lots of interviews with the director and animator about how the animation was a "change of pace" for DWA, and "pays tribute to the old style of classic-toon humor and squash-and-stretch".
(And you listen to it thinking, "Yeah, but....it's still Dreamworks--They're going to sell the fact that Alec Baldwin and Jimmy Kimmel are in it, as if that even remotely means something to kids!")

Liking the logo.

It is cute.

Re: DreamWorks' Boss Baby
So...the debut teaser trailer...
While more amusing than the concept might suggest, anyone else picking up the rather lazy "Stewie Herman" vibe?
Both those baby adults came to mind.

Re: DreamWorks' Boss Baby
So the Boss Baby is just a baby, not say an alien pretending to be a baby to take over the world? It looks like a decent idea for a TV show (which as Ben said already exists) but not for a whole movie.
Re: DreamWorks' Boss Baby
I get what Ben is saying, but at the same time, part of me is kinda excited about this sort of being a Stewie movie. Especially since Stewie more or less stopped being the "ruthless genius" type a couple of seasons ago.
"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift--that is why it's called the present."
Re: DreamWorks' Boss Baby
I like the animation. Otherwise, not impressed. Basically just seems like MegaMind only with a baby instead of a blue guy. Doubt I'll be leaving the house for this, will probably just catch it on Flix.
(Still haven't seen Home.)

Re: DreamWorks' Boss Baby
Heavens no, we didn't pick that up the minute the project was even announced...Ben wrote:While more amusing than the concept might suggest, anyone else picking up the rather lazy "Stewie Herman" vibe?
As it is, I don't think the public is quite patient yet for a baby that acts like a business tycoon, or vice versa.
Re: DreamWorks' Boss Baby
Of course, adult babies in cartoons is no new thing however you slice it:
Re: DreamWorks' Boss Baby
Yeah, but they already remade THAT one with the Wayans Bros.
(It was interesting to read the reviews and see how many critics remembered the title of the Bugs cartoon, and how many remembered the name of Baby Face Finster.)
