Re: Natalie Portman joins cast of Thor
Guess we won't know until we get closer to the release of the film. Perhaps he won't have a role after all.

Well, Blessed only announced he was in Thor himself...it was never confirmed by the movie's publicist.
As recently as 2009 he was expected to have the role of Thor's father Odin in the movie, and I believe he was Branagh's first choice. It seems the studio wanted a more recognizable/bankable face and picked Anthony Hopkins instead, hence why Blessed was never in any official publicity or cast lists.
It could well be that after Branagh and Blessed discussed the part, Blessed went out with his "I am Odin!" news to try and whip up fan support so that Branagh would have a better play for pushing for him. Sadly, it doesn't look like it worked...

Re: Thor
I don't see it till Tuesday (bargain matinees, whenever there's 3-D), but I've had fears of "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein" hanging over this project since I'd heard he was announced.
I'm taking a lot of faith to trust Branagh on a non-Shakespeare movie.

Re:
You mean, a few months, right? Or did you get invited to a preview screening?
Anyway, considering Christian Bale can go from looking scrawny in The Fighter to becoming buff again for The Dark Knight Rises, Hemsworth's added muscles seem realistic to me.
