Well, the person who went down to calculate how many people are in Times Square for the movie actually ended up in the Bell Centre during a Habs game. So, as you can imagine, New York is pretty sparse.

Haha! Good one.

I'm actually directing a (gasp! live-action) show right now - we're in prep - and going through the same thing with the amount of extras we can have on set and which shots we can get away with achieving in camera and which might need wire removal/dig fx. It's a cartoon-styled show, so I'm pushing for as many dig fx as we can fit in, but it's an uphill battle on a miniscule TV budget.

Still, thanks for being candid, man.

Core at it's peak had close to 350 staff working on the Wild. Now that it's done most of those people have moved on to other things. Like Zammit, but we miss him.... Don't miss the dino noises though.

By the way, it was "for a good time call..." all down my arm.

We had a great time! It was a very cool crew that came from all over the world to work in Toronto. We had quite a few people stay in Toronto even after the film was done. I even heard of a couple of people applying for Canadian citizenship.

Toronto is pretty cool. I've been there a few times, it's only a couple hours away from where I live.

oh yeah, i second that. if there's any place you want to get arrested it's Toronto. Toronto is a great place to lick the sidewalk with your hands cuffed and 2 pairs of knees in your back at 2am on Queen st. makes for a different kind of post card ,but... Ooooopaaaa !!!!.

Y'know, after the "above the line" credits, the next thing I look for is who did the score.

Can't believe I missed this one - you guys got to work with Silvestri?? What was that like?

It alternates between Elfman and Silvestri as to who is my favorite.

He showed us the arrest report the next day. I can't remember if it was disturbing the peace or intimidating a police officer... both pretty serious crimes in T.O.

Gee, it's pretty cool to meet people who actually worked on the film. :)

Would you guys say it's like "Madagascar"? ;)

It's way beyond Madagascar. Visually speaking... we have sooo many more environments, props and character types then they did. Moer and a lot more detailed. The zoo in Madagascar was essentially 4 pens. In the Wild, almost the entire zoo was modeled. It's massive. The wild sets are also massive and detailed. In New York, there's also about 5 city blocks completely modeled and textured. Anyone who knows what it takes to build a movie like this in the time we had is going to be amazed, as well as the average movie goer.

And we have a riding geese bareback joke. Can't beat that.
