I think people tend to underestimate movies that have a smaller scale and are more intimate. No, Luca is not an Epic, but I also don't think there's anything wrong with that.
It reminded me of Walt's approach to filmmaking by making movies that speak to the child inside all if us, and truthfully this movie does feel like the kind of film Walt would have made in the 50's or 60's.
And can I just say how refreshing it was for Pixar to allow the fantasy world behave like a fantasy world without inserting that bureaucracy nonsense they put in most of their movies like Inside Out, Coco, Soul, etc...
