Though the UK still gets tha same ugly cover atm, at least PLAY.com offer an exclusive tin Activit-E Set as an incentive.
WHSmith shows a variation of the B'Ray DVD cover:
whilst HMV.co.uk show this image as the 2 DVD set's cover:
I like the cleaner less-cluttered feel to these.

Wall-e For Best Picture!
I just found an online petition aimed to push the Academy members to nominate Wall-e for Best Picture! You can sign it here: http://www.petitionspot.com/petitions/walle4bestpicture
P.S. Why are there so few news on the main page lately? They never published the huge news about Disney's upcoming Blu-ray classics and the release of Destino...

We're working on something that hopefully will help with that...Gnomeo wrote:P.S. Why are there so few news on the main page lately? They never published the huge news about Disney's upcoming Blu-ray classics and the release of Destino...

I found Best Buy's store exclusive if you pre-order the DVD or Blu-Ray. Its alright, but hey, at least BD is not being degleted. For Best Buy anyway, let's see how the other main retailers fare.

I'm kinda confused about the "Lots of Bots storybook" that's included on the DVD.
Lots of Bots is the title of a WALL E-themed childrens picture book. Is the DVD going to come with an actual copy of the book? Or is it going to be adapted into a virtual storybook? Or is it something completely different with the same title???

This is a little late, but Wall-E only just came out in Melbourne, so I only just saw it no less than an hour ago :].
I was amazed. Yes, yes, I know that this is just another "wow, it's awesome" view on the film, but I can't help myself - I think very highly of it.
I entered the cinema with such high expectations and I was worried, at first, that they weren't going to be met. But man, once the film actually started, my concerns pretty much washed away. The beginning does a good job of setting the tone of the whole film, which is a fair bit more serious than what I'm used to seeing from Pixar.
The level of sophistication that the film brings truly impressed me. Unlike Ben, I actually really felt for both WALL-E and EVE. Even though neither is human, I thought that they were both expressive enough for us to relate to, and I love how they communicate so much in such a minimalist fashion. :]

Wall-E really doesn't look anything like the robots (Old BOB and VINCENT) from The Black Hole.
If anything, the robot design that pops out to me is Johnny Number 5 from Short Circuit and Short Circuit 2. The eye lenses and treads are a lot like Johnny 5. Also, a lot of real-life security and bomb threat robots look like Wall-E, too.
Pixar designers really should have done a better job at coming up with something fresh there...
Admittedly, a fresh design like R2-D2 only comes around a few times in a lifetime, but still...!
Haven't seen this film yet, btw, but then again I haven't seen a Pixar film since The Incredibles. They pretty much are all that cutesy buddy movie deal, no?
