A newbie! And one who thought it was cool! Yay! If you liked TMNT, I'd recommend watching the original live action Turtles trilogy (You can find the boxset for under $20 now) and at least the first two volumes of the original Turtles cartoon (which is good, deliberately goofy fun). If you like all that, then the new Turtles cartoon is good too and the upcoming boxset won't be expensive at all.Wendy's Jane wrote:I saw the movie the other week. I thought it was pretty cool, even though I'd never seen a turtles film.
My name is Eddie Valient and I'm a Ninja Turtles geek.
(200th post! Woohoo yeah!)

Finally saw it, and I fully agree with everything YCougar said
The plot was a bit "eh", but if you don't take it too seriously, it's quite an enjoyable film.
Not to mention it sparked my intrest in TMNT all over again (I just bought the first movie ). Now I remember why I liked it so much when I was a kid ^___^

(First post from me here.)
Sorry for resurrecting an old topic, but I'm an avid TMNT fan (and animation in general) and this looked like the best place to talk about it. I saw this movie and was slightly less disappointed with it than the people I saw it with. I liked the family message it had, but it felt like it was a little "in-your-face", being mentioned in almost every scene. I also wouldn't have known it was supposed to be darker than the cartoon series; I thought it was very light-hearted. Maybe that was just my expectations.
I definitely enjoyed myself, and I'll probably see number five if it gets made, but did anyone else get the feeling that they were just totally off-the-mark when it came to trying to give this movie a serious edge?

Looks like the next one's gonna be live action according to variety.
