Nope, Pixar didn't like the adult edge in Gnomeo and Juliet.

As for musicals, well, at an average of five/six songs each, none of the classic or recent Disney films could be called real musicals, but they are. I think the closest, with something like 16 songs, is Alice In Wonderland, and Mary Poppins, with something like the same.

Since the characters do burst into song, I guess that's why they are called musicals. Enchanted will be one of these kinds of musicals, with the characters singing for real.

Since it's primarily a live-action picture, Pixar doesn't appear to have much say in this one.

Looking forward to "Enchanted". Amy Adams should be great in it. :)

I saw it today! How on Earth can they make the audience feels so many emotions through cars?? The movie was great I wil developp a critic later tommorow as well as the debate with John Lasseter on his role at Disney and future of animation.
Oh and they showed us the preview of Ratatouille which was brilliant, the first image of Paris by night is stunning! And One Man Band rocks too, the little girl's expressions are a treat!

More tomorow ;)

Glad you liked it!

Don't forget to tell us EVERYTHING about the Ratatouille trailer - I'm really interested in that project so far. ;)

The problem with that poster is the "95".

It looks like it's saying that the movie came out ten years ago. :D

You mean 11? But yeah. I was thinking the same thing about the 95. I know it's the number on Lightning, but it still doesn't look right.

My guess...the 95 represents the year that Pixar's first film Toy Story was released.

Yep - don't know what I'd do without her. =D I may have a math minor but I can't do simple subtraction like that half the time myself WJ. ;)

Not to be Captain Obvious here but I think the 95 stands for the number on Lightning McQueen (regardless of the fact that the number on LM stands for the TS release date). And anybody who even briefly glances at the poster will see the 95 plastered on LM's side and realise it's made up to look like a giant trading card and neglect the year refference. If it has any flaws it would be that someone might not immediately recognize it as a movie poster LOL.

Someone already has an opinion about this. (personally I hope it's not true.)

You can’t just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!

About directing he told us that he'gonna focus on his roles over Disney, imaginering and Pixar for the moment, and focus on the many movies in the works at Pixat by talented artists inhouse. I'll put a video online in a few hours.

Lasseter talks about WDFA and his future at CARS Premiere

Post by Kinoo » May 12th, 2006, 10:03 am

Hi all
As promised here is a trip report from the Grand Première of CARS held in the French Cinémathèque yesterday. There was a first prjection at 4 pm where they played Ratatouille teaser and One Mand Band. Then the movie in all digital projection glory!
Following the movie , John Lasseter came on stage and discuss his career by commenting pictures on screen. Then the audience was able to ask a few questions. I asked him if with the recent Pixar-Disney merge and all the reposibilities he now has, will he bea ble to direct another movie in the near future. You'll see the answer on video here:

you can also see another video of selected moments from the conference and it ends with a great optimistic note about 2D animation with cheer applause from the audience which was composed of mostly animation students.

Also on the same page you can see the red carpet photos of John Lasseter, his father and wife and the producer of the movie, as well as the french cast of the movie.

Enjoy!

Just want to share my joy:
