Only streaming in the US. I can't see it, either.

This is old, old news, so it's funny how it's been suddenly picked up by so many sites lately. I haven't the heart to methodically go through all my discs from that period, but I will be sure to find issues. It is another reason to upgrade to Blu-rays or 4Ks when possible. I did just find out my Tarzan RKO set is affected, though only one movie wouldn't play through all the way.

This is a bit nuts, though, as I know I have been running a lot of these even recently and they’ve been fine…?

You're lucky, then. Or maybe you got later pressings.

The discs from that Mickey & Judy set wouldn't load for me at all. I'm afraid to try my Fred & Ginger or Busby Berkely sets. The original Looney Tunes Golden sets, too. Adventures of Superman is also said to have been affected, and that would break my heart (though I've been watching Vol. 3 lately, and it's okay so far), but it's also rumoured to be getting restored for Blu-ray, which would make me so happy.

MovieZyng sale on now! 4 for $49 (single disc Blu-rays).
https://www.moviezyng.com/sale-items

I've been holding off on buying WA titles for the past year, with a few exceptions, and now I'm ready to splurge on about two dozen titles. My wish list does still date back a few years, so this will be a big catch-up: Marx Bros, Looney Tunes, a few Clark Gable films, Esther Williams, Karloff, Hitchcock, Lupino, musicals... a number of aspects of my collection will be up to date.
