I just want it to be over. This is basically the final crappy remake to a Disney classic. All they have after that are just modern movies.

They still have prince charming, hunchback, hercules, stitch of course, and if it ever gets out of movie limbo robin hood.

AristoCats…Bedknobs…Tangled…Frozen…another Cruella…they’re all in development (Tangled is actually ramping up to shoot)… Many more remakes to come!

Sure, but the actual classics have now been done. Wait... isn't Bambi coming yet?

As for Snowy... it is what it is. I don't hate it (that would be a waste of energy), and I might even enjoy it. Rachel is quite pretty and has pipes (though I'm not digging her haircut, and she's not particularly "fair" of complexion, which is kind of humorous, but whatever), and the visuals are nice. Gal looks great. The dwarfs have HUGE heads, and don't look particularly like their animated counterparts, which feels like an odd choice. But I have no issues with this coming out. For those who want to go out and see it, enjoy! I'll catch up with it soon enough.

Many of the remakes you listed were only announced and never started production, and some of them, like Aristocats, were intended for Disney+, which Disney doesn't invest in anymore (last big Disney+ release was Peter and Wendy back in April 2023).

There's no way they're gonna make Hunchback, Josh Gad said that Disney is reluctant to do it. Too mature and too dark for their sanitized brand these days. It's also not a classic, neither are Hercules, Lilo and Stitch, Tangled, Frozen and Moana.

Cruella 2 seems to have been quietly cancelled as well. Bedknobs? Never heard of it and seems unlikely after Mary Poppins Returns didn't meet expectations.

Bambi was also supposed to be a Disney+ exclusive. Can't see this film being a success. Can't see any of the animals movies being successful, except more Lion King films.

Don't say stitch is not a classic on other forums! You will get tar and feathered! Stitch is hugely popular right now and loved! Also, I'm an 80s kid but to 90s kids' movies like Hercules are classics in fact many are heading to 30 years old!

Bedknobs is fun and worth a watch for the animated segment alone but heads up there is a special edition that adds more scenes to one song making it twice as long! Recommend the original version.

I think that for many of us, "classic" Disney is the Walt era at most.

Quorum reports a 3-day start for the Marc Webb directed movie of $63M-$70M while other sources believe $65M at this point in time is fair. As a comp, the 2014 Angelina Jolie Sleeping Beauty live-action spinoff opened to $69.4M back in early summer 2014. At that level, it would rep the highest domestic opening for the Golden Globe winning Zegler whose Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes ranks as the actress best opening at the B.O. with $44.6M.
Awareness is solid among women over and under 35. In regards to those who are willing to pay to see the movie in a theater, women under 35 are first, followed by women over 35, and then men under 35 per Quorum.

Per social media stats firm RelishMix, Snow White currently counts a reach of 279M followers with no X or Instagram so far. One video on TikTok has 9.2M boosted views. Currently, Snow White‘s reach on social is 2% above other family live-action movies. Snow White YouTube videos are counting 141M views so far with a strong viral rate of 47:1.

Nice to hear. There will still be haters on principle, or those who genuinely don't like it, but it's great that some are loving it.

To be fair to the haters, if the movie is any good it won't be because Disney stuck to their original script but because they felt compelled to change it after criticism.

if they never saw it before they hated it, then I'm not sure how compelling their case is.

And if they hate it now, then I just hope it's for the right reasons, meaning due to the film itself and not outside controversy.
