They changed it around the mid 70s i think. The prime time specials in the 80s used great old time also.

I don't know how I remember this, but the characters underneath the Brady Kids on the Saturday Superstar Movie ad are, left to right, Nanny & the Professor, Yogi's Ark Lark, Oliver & the Artful Dodger, Tabitha & Adam, and the Mays thing again.

It was an interesting experience watching TV pilots every week, and not even knowing why they were failed TV pilots (except for Yogi and Lassie).
Managed to track down the Oliver pilot on a Warner Archive disk, but the others, on YouTube, were...not worth the effort.

Ah, yes. Them, too. There were a LOT of ABC shows being tested for Saturday-morning spinoffs, that year.
(Not counting the Brady Kids, who had already been greenlit.)

Ah, TV Guide...
Remember when it was paperback-sized TV listings, and not a big glossy fanzine for binge-streaming fangirls?
FTM, remember when there was enough local programming that you actually NEEDED to know what shows were on local channels at a certain hour?

(Heck, I didn't even know Wonderama was still airing on WNEW-5 in '84, now only a half-hour shell of its former self...)

It’s very much the same over here. There’s only really one decent TV guide magazine here, the Radio Times, which goes back as far as that sounds, but even then the front pages are now filled mostly with soaps and "popular celebrity", er, "articles" (really just promo pieces for other shows). Occasionally on an anniversary you might still get a good four page spread on something vintage (usually Python, Beatles, classic comedy or Attenborough related) but otherwise it’s mostly just good for the schedules.

That said, I just go through the EPG once a week and set things to record as a reminder. Our DVR is so clogged that I’m quite pleased now when there’s only a film or two or scant few episodes of whatever show we're watching to catch up on…!
