Re: Manga & Anime THREAD
I'd figured Puss was coming, once Animal Treasure Island was announced .. but it's nice to have it confirmed. Definite 'day-1' Blu-ray purchase, for me! I'd love to see its sequel films get a release eventually, too.
I posted some thoughts on the movie awhile back, in the Studio Ghibli thread -- along with a [japanese language] trailer.
.. and, wow! I never knew there was an Aim for the Ace! OVA sequel series
.. I've been very much enjoying Diskotek's Blu-rays of the AftA! TV series & movie (both from the 1970s) over the past couple of months. Good to know I can look forward to more..!
also 'wow' for SPT Layzner .. in the sense of "now that's a name I haven't heard, in a long time."

And, of course, the next volume of the 80's Urusei Yatsura TV for July 25, splitting the series neatly in half to wrap up Mamoru Oshii's involvement with the TV version.

No new case closed releases? Dang.
Also, will the puss and boots include the captain N the game master crossover that had boots team up with captain N, link and zelda to promote the nes game based on the movie?
Not as crazy as they did a captain N and robin hood prince of thieves' crossover also!

Um, yes, as discussed a few pages back.
And the new one's not too bad, either, as "Remakes we're only initially interested in if they get the original on video" series go:

At least as far as remakes of the first-season episodes, that we're no longer ashamed to show newbie fans.
But Discotek promised to get the original series after releasing the five (okay, technically six) movies on video, and advertised the old series boxes with "Promises made. Promises kept."

I'm surprised HiDive is allowing the episodes to stay up. There goes any incentive to subscribe!
