I'm going to check out that Mannheim Steamroller version when I get home. Instrumental is what I'm looking for.

Hmm, I like the good ol' Cliff Edwards version best. So much for trying to avoid cliches. I guess you can't beat the original.

Did you find Gene Simmonds...the backing on that is almost identical to the original, but it's a cleaner recording and he brings quite a bit of soul to it. Plus, he's hardly recognisable, so it may be a very neat "hey, who the heck is that?" angle to your project, being faithful but not quite the original...
Just a thought...
