Hi, I'm Thalia.
I'm 22 and I live in Toronto and eat cheese.

Squee!

My favorite word today is [edited by ADMIN]!
Who are all of you?

Welcome. We allow talk on about everything, but ask that politics and religion be kept to a minimum to avoid flamewars. Just stay on topic when asked, watch the language since there may be children present, and you'll fit in fine!

(I edited your favorite word out since it is a slang sexual reference).

I might as well play along. :D

Hi, Thalia! You can call me PV or PiVi here at A-N, but Brandon calls me Foxxy. ;)
I'm 21 until August 3rd, and I live in Ohio and eat soup.

My favorite word today is "paintjob", but lately it's been "pitstop". ^^

Welcome again!

OK, WHY WAS MY WORD OF THE DAY EDITED OUT!

Not only was it not in context, it's the funniest word ever!
The only word for semen that doesn't stink.
it's not a dirty word.
And if it is I really need to grow a vocabulary, because I say it about five times a day.

Out of context is actually worse I think because it makes it gratuitous. What if some guy just started arbitrarily adding a slang term for female sexual body parts to their posts saying it was their favorite word? It would seem crass and we'd assume he was probably a pervert. Especially when done in a forum where it is more than likely children are present.

You're welcome to use these forums, but unlike other websites we do keep watch and will edit, delete, or ban as necessary.

If a child's parents are checking up on the websites they visit we don't want to get a kid in trouble, or worse, get in trouble with their parents ourselves!

I'd love ANY job at Pixar...Heck I'd even settle for custodian. But alas, I'm just a wee child...

Wow. I'd love to apply, but I only know Photoshop and After Effects really well. Even though I've never heard of most of the programs listed, I'd be willing to learn all of them. I just wish I could afford them so I could gain some experience.

If you're seriously interested in this position, can you please PM me? If you have many, but not all of the qualifications, we'll still consider you. Passion goes a long way.

Thanks!

I can see how you all would find it hard to believe that a Pixar hiring manager would be soliciting applications on a forum, but the fact of the matter is that there aren't a lot of Mac professionals out there; remember, Macs represent only 3% of the personal computer market. Plus, when people decide to go into a technical field, an extreme few set out to learn Macs. So the pickin's are slim (relatively speaking). But it's not like I don't get resumes. I get plenty; it's just really hard to find a good fit. And that's exactly why I'm posting here. I figure if any of you A-N folks are Mac geeks, odds are better than average that you might be a good fit.

That all said, you're probably skeptical about my authenticity. Don't believe me? Send email to mac-recruiting@pixar.com.

Also, just so you know, I cannot accept any story ideas. If you send me anything, I'm legally obligated to stop reading the second I become aware you're making a pitch. All Pixar stories are homegrown. Sorry to be saying this, but trust me, there's a need.

You guys are really making me jump through hoops. :P
