I don't think I have the Disney issue of Cat From Outer Space (a childhood fave, there are some brilliantly subtle bits of comedy in this film), but I have Absent Minded Professor, so no need for this for me at this point. At least it's the original b/w 1.66 print on this edition, Rand, and not the (albeit well done) colorized crop that also came out.
Actually, I was
stunned when I saw the color edition playing on TV: I kept scratching my head and muttering that was
sure this was a black and white movie, so good was the registration. Professor was, of course, shot intentionally in black and white so as to help the flubber effects blend in, and blend in they do. The two-sets are good deals on the points, though I picked up the Duck Tales and Reluctant Dragon titles separately and don't want to have to waste points to get the Donald In Mathmagicland single disc, which I'd like for comparison's sake.
I'm also saving up for that Kim Possible two-set, though An Extremely Goofy Movie is tempting me at the moment, since I have enough points for that. I know it's not as good as the theatrical original, but it's a good enough DTV and it's one I kept meaning to pick up after enjoying it on TV. I also have a couple of the older Walt-era movies to collect, though I have off-air recordings and they're not great titles (or satisfactory discs from what I hear) so I'm not jumping for them.
Still wish they'd carry over some other exclusives from the Movie Club, though: The Incredible Journey, Castaway Cowboy and Westward Ho, The Wagons!, for a start!
